Beginnings and Visions

The PSPC Journal Takes a Bow
By Dr. Paz A. Ramos
Editor-in-Chief

The birth of the Panay State Polytechnic College Journal is a dream realized, a commitment fulfilled. For years, the College has been aware of the growing need for a publication which shall serve as channel for the dissemination of research findings of faculty members, staff and students.

For the fruits of research to be more meaningful, they have to become a part of the people’s way of life. Research has to provide answers to the multifarious problems brought about by a more complex society, rapid scientific and technological advancement and a keener struggle for survival.

The value of research can never be overemphasized. It is the lifeblood of educational institutions, a potent instrument for positive change. It is man’s expression of hope that he can move forward to a better quality of life. The publication of the PSPC Journal, therefore, comes at the most opportune time in the history of Panay Polytechnic State College. As such, its maiden publication is symbolic of a laudable achievement of the administration, faculty and the student populace.

It is hoped that this first issue of the PSPC Journal shall pave the way for the attainment of the objectives of the College along its multidimensional programs of instruction, research, extension and production. It is hoped further that through the years the PSPC Journal shall gather stamina and determination in its drive for academic excellence, steadfastness of purpose and thus realize the goals for which it has been dreamed of.
